Swim with the fishes in E-Line’s interactive education game
Switch owners and fans of the popular Blue Planet documentary series will be rejoiced to hear that the educational underwater adventure game Beyond Blue has now arrived on Nintendo’s console. Developed by E-Line Media, the game sees you play as Mirai, a deep-sea explorer and scientist, as you traverse the vast world beneath the waves.
Released in partnership with the BBC as well as scientific leading experts, the game is touted to showcase the ways in which new technology is helping to better understand the urgent threats facing the marine world. Set in the near-future, the story sees a team of oceanographers testing their new ‘Ocean Sense Network’ equipment in the Western Pacific Ocean amid a large gathering of varied sea creatures to get a far deeper glimpse into their world.
E-Line Media also promise to have included never-before-seen footage licensed from the BBC show, ‘expanding on the game’s story and educating players on the social and emotional lives’ of these animals.
Releasing at £15.09 ($25.20 USD and €16.79 EUR) on Nintendo’s console, the game has been applauded on other platforms for its majestic atmosphere and narrative, with particular credit given to voice actor performances and the music. And now exploring the wonderful ocean world beneath us can be enjoyed all from your couch, bedroom or even on the bus.
