For those of you who remember the functionality in Battlefield 4 that allowed you to rent a server to cater to your needs for maps and modes, Battlefield 4 has been updated to include this feature.
You can rent a server to set it up as private for you and your friends, public so anyone can join, select the location of the server that is most suitable for you and your friends, and select the game mode and map rotations. Rates start at $1.49 for a day, and go all the way up to $59.99 for 90 server rentals. Though the management and rental functionality are currently disabled for the Xbox One version due to some rental time issues, any servers that already have been rented will still be available while the feature is disabled.
This also co-incised with a server update that has fixed a number of issues, including a “death shield” bug that allowed players to hide behind fallen comrades to block incoming fire.
This is great news for those who still play a lot of Battlefield 4, but are frustrated with specific maps that they don’t enjoy, or just want to play more of the maps they have the most fun on.
