I’m a bit late to the war with this one. But it deserves some spotlight.

Battlefield 1 has arrived.

For privacy reasons YouTube needs your permission to be loaded.

When I first saw the trailer and that epic music backed behind it, I knew I’d like Battlefield 1. It’s refreshing to revisit a historic warfront and even better that it’s set in WW1. For those who have played the Beta, and those who have been playing all weekend and are rubbing the sleep from their eyes on a Monday morning. You know how enjoyable Battlefield 1 is.

Battlefield 1 feels completely different from any of its predecessors. There is still the battlefield destruction but on a whole new scale. The battlefield changes on how a team moves and operates. If you mortar strike an objective it’s going to be full of holes when you get there. Weapons feel more realistic with slower firing and reloading, it genuinely feels like these weapons are powerful but cumbersome. The vehicles in the game feel like safe places with powerful ordinance but it is just as terrifying being surrounded by enemy foot soldiers with grenades as it is staring down the barrel of a tank.

The maps are stunning, with missions that span across Europe and Africa. The new game modes offer a better objective challenge with each side fighting to gain ground. Some missions do feel like trench warfare and you will be racing to unlock a better close quarter shotgun in no time. The class customisation UI feels a lot more smoother and refined. You can also earn battle-packs to unlock new weapons and skins for weapons, surprisingly there are no micro-transactions here so if you want to unlock battle-packs, you’ll have to join the war effort soldier.

For those of you on EA Access, you can get Battlefield 1 now at discount price to start playing now.
