Ubisoft have released new details on the side quests from Assassins Creed Unity, which is the first full next generation Assassins Creed game.

For privacy reasons YouTube needs your permission to be loaded.

The video explains that instead of the typical (and monotonous) side quests of old, where you could tail a patron, pickpocket the unsuspecting or even eavesdrop on a conversation, Unity boasts a whole new range of side missions where the player will be given narrative and better rewards for completing missions. Some of the new mission types are –

Murder Mystery – Where Arno will pick up on a trail and can choose to follow the murder back to culprit and bring them to justice. Follow the clues to uncover the darkness of the Parisian underworld.

Revamped Contracts – Where you no longer are given a random NPC target and have to eliminate them. Now these are now fully narrative quests and allow the player to actually understand the reason for a contract and tackle the target from any desired angle.

Treasure Hunt – From the highest spire to the deepest crypt, there is plenty of treasure to be discovered throughout Paris and Arno is just the Assassin for the job.

Co-operative Heist Missions – Possibly the most awaited feature in an Assassins Creed game, these are contracts undertaken with friends or people online and you must work together as a team to claim treasure and not be discovered. The stealthier you are, the greater the reward. Though do not get cocky because each time you play a mission guards locations and patrol paths are randomized.

Cafe Theater – The social hub of the game and used as Arno’s base of operations, from here you can check the social aspects of the game or change your clothing.

Assassins Creed Unity is looking to be the grandest of Assassins Creed games to date and showing that the series is not ready to hang up its hidden blades yet.

Assassins Creed Unity is due for release on the 14th of November on Xbox One.
