The trailers above are the cinematic and commentary version of the gameplay trailer for Assassins Creed Unity. As you should of seen Assassins Creed Unity is a four player co-op sandbox action adventure game developed by Ubisofts Montreal based team. Unity follows the story of an Assassin named “Arno Dorian” during the French Revolution. The game is available to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and is set to be released on 28 October 2014.
My first impression of the game was that it seemed very generic and similar to the rest of the games franchise, and so I had a “meh” moment, which was quickly shot down by the intensity and complication of the four player co-op. The game is obviously more strategic and difficult to its predecessors due to it’s co-op gameplay, more players equals more hazards, enemies, and a higher risk if detected; you won’t just be screwing up the game for yourself but the team playing with you, and that’s why I’m interested in this game, apart from the fact that I am a fan of the franchise.
Assassins Creed Unity seems to be drawing it’s strength on what the games subtitle would suggest, Unity, IE: brotherhood, companionship, teamwork, working to together to achieve the task at hand, and you’ll be depending on your teammates to help you complete the mission, whether or not this plays in Ubisofts favor time will tell. I can imagine playing the game with random strangers being a stressful event, with noobs tripping off alarms and alerting the guards, douches and trolls ruining the game on purpose, so I’ll have to find some good Assassins Creed friends to play with. But one problem I have with that is what if you don’t friends? Well that sounds rather depressing, I’m sure you have friends as much as I do, what I mean more is what if I don’t have a friend, let alone three good friends who also like Assassins Creed to play this game with? Moving on the game also seems to be more advanced then previous games in it’s environment, it looks like most if not all buildings are open to the players as well, which makes more room for maneuverability during chases and such, there’s people inside each building too so it’ll be more interactive. The story also seems to be a bit more compelling and fun to what i thought it would be, I was one of those guys who original thought
“France!? What do we do in the game, surrender?“
but obviously these thoughts come from short sightedness and lack of education for who the French really are, a people of rich culture and hardship, it’s also partly due to stereotypical internet memes. That’s all I could grab from these trailers, what really matters is what did you think?
