I’ll be honest. I finished with ARK a long time ago. The game was very time dependent and required a dedication of hours. That’s not to say I don’t like ARK. That game gave me over 100 hours of fun.
What is great to see from the developers is the consistent new content being imported into the game. The latest update adds a wealth of new dinos and a new underwater weapon, the harpoon. Take a look at the trailer below.
So the Hyenadons offer a pet dog to the series and one I imagine will gain buffs from being in a pack, similar to Allosaurus and Compys.
Then there’s the Megarithium, which looks like a giant tank Sloth. Looks like it will be good at gather chitin from insects. There’s your source of cementing paste.
The Megalania looks to be the first land creature capable of climbing and scaling walls like a gecko. Sure there have been creatures able to cling and hang but not looking as menacing as a giant komodo dragon descending off the walls.
Hesperornis looks to be a golden goose (quite literally) with the ability to lay a golden egg. I wonder how this will effect cooking foods.
Finally the Yutyrannis. A smaller T-Rex with a lot more feathers and a hella loud roar. Looks to be able to scare off smaller creatures and buff friendly dinos. The MMO development of ARK is certainly spreading out.
