Set in medieval France, this game tells a story of two lost children Amicia and Hugo De Rune as they desperately search for shelter amidst the war-torn villages, castle catacombs and verdant forests. But that is not all they have to deal with, as the title suggests this is also a time when the Black Death is rife, spread by swarms of plague-infested rats.
The game developers Asobo studios have built their own game engine from scratch to power this beautiful, evocative new action-adventure stealth game so as to squeeze the best performance out of current gen consoles and PC. Different towns, villages and their surroundings all have their own unique look and feel. These different areas are said to provoke emotional reactions from the playable characters, like Hugo being scared in these new and unfamiliar landscapes.
A Plague Tale: Innocence is set to release in 2019 and is sure to be a grim and emotional game, but also one full of beauty and wonder as you do your best to get the siblings to safety.
