Ask me about some of the games from my earlier years and I’ll likely tell you about Sonic 2, Final Fantasy VIII and Grandia. But I’ve seen a game today that reminds me of sitting on my friends floor with some of my other mates and playing Burnout 3 Takedown’s Crash mode. This game mode was all about causing as much destruction and making as many points as possible. Everyone watching the epic fails and perfect collisions which left us cheering and yelling for hours.

Danger Zone, published and developed by Three Fields Entertainment takes this game mode and turns it into a game of vehicular destruction, expositions and real physical crashes. Focusing the game play on pure fun the developers have aimed to create a game that is great for the whole family. With easy to drive cars anyone can drive into the special crash facility and cause carnage in the crash test junctions. Its all about trying to cause the biggest car crashes, collect the most bonus points and get to the top of the leader board amongst your friends and family.

There is some skill required however. Knowing where to cause maximum damage as you drive along and when to use the SmashBreaker, a feature from Burnout, which causes your car to explode. Each scenario has pick ups in three colours, Bronze, Silver and Gold which boost points earning you a smash and grab bonus and collecting them in order will earn you the Grand Smash bonus award.

Danger Zone is available now on Xbox One for just £11.99 at the time of writing. You can buy the game here from the Microsoft website.
