Ubisoft is welcoming us to Hope County, a fictional location in Montana, the fourth largest county in the United States and the setting for Farcry 5. Four teaser videos have been released each showing a very different location providing a taste of what the county has to offer us. Each video seems to be live action, so we don’t yet know what to expect from the latest outing of this franchise.
The first teaser is of a large, fast flowing river with the light glistening on the surface. The camera pans up the river only to see a body float past face down and the sudden sound of flies can be heard over the bird songs that filled the air.
The second teaser seems to be a vast field of tall grass, the wind is blowing and all you can hear is the grass rustling. Mountains climb up in the back ground and buildings of some kind. Suddenly a man comes running through the field, he makes it about half way through our view before a gun shot rings out and the man collapses from view.
The third is of a white church, the bell tolling and the hymn ‘Amazing Grace’ is in full chorus. The camera moves toward the church and the man ringing the bell can be seen in the tower. As we get closer we see that the Man is using a human head to cause the bell to ring out.
The fourth and final teaser is of a lush green forest, lost to green mountains. Chirping of birds and the breeze is all we can hear before a sudden screaming causes all the birdto take to the air en-masse.
Each of these teasers closes out with Welcome to Hope County, Montana and an end card telling us that there will be a world wide reveal trailer coming on the 26th May. We’ll have to wait until then to see just what Ubisoft and Hope County has in store for us in Montana.
