As most keen Halo fans will know, on Friday 17th February, Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition is released. This means there is just one week until one of the most anticipated Halo campaigns ever is open to those lucky owners. Don’t worry though, the standard edition releases just 4 days later. What with the game being so close to release, we have received the eagerly awaited live action trailers, as is in the fashion of any Halo game release.
These trailers are entitled “War of Wits” and focus on strategy game style comedy, which plays out well in the real life situations. It is somewhat like the Sherlock films, in which Sherlock would predict what his opponent would do before they’ve actually done it. These slices of humour are very refreshing and much appreciated in the style they’ve been made. Managing to put a deadly Brute leader into real life situations is nothing but amazing to begin with.

The description for the video is as follows: “Two brilliant minds. One “Vintage Car”. The leaders of opposing factions in Halo Wars 2 face off in a war of wits over the sale price of a used car.
Moving from the battleground of the Forerunner Ark in 2559 to the lot of Camacho Auto Sales in 2017, it’s General Atriox versus Captain Cutter in a price war showdown.“
Halo Wars 2 War of Wits: The Armrest
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wTgV1u2K5Y
The description for this video is similar to the first, and reads: “Two shrewd strategists. One contentious armrest. The leaders of opposing factions in Halo Wars 2 face off in a war of wits over control of an armrest. Moving from the battleground of the Forerunner Ark in 2559 to coach class on a domestic flight in 2017, it’s General Atriox versus Captain Cutter in a no-holds-barred battle of elbows. “
The trailers of course are quick to show off Atriox’s sheer size and toughness, while also showing how cunning and professional Cutter is in difficult situations. These are just small hints towards what the characters will be like in game, and that is also a very clever way of indirectly showing off the characters.
