N7 Day for anyone who may not know is the self proclaimed celebration day of all things Mass Effect. Self proclaimed by who you ask, well that would be series creators and industry veterans Bioware. N7 Day is celebrated on the 7th of November due to the in game Earth special forces being named N7.
This year saw a good few announcements coming from the annex’s of the internet, some of these for the existing Mass Effect games and 1 great new trailer for the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda. We shall take a look at the latter first, the latest game in the Mass Effect franchise has been somewhat shrouded in mystery and managed to keep itself hidden from the public.
The largest mystery of this game would be how it is able to take place after the events of the original trilogy? Bioware informed the public that this game will be set after the events of Mass Effect 3, though your character was in suspended animation travelling through deep space and unaffected by the events of Mass Effect 3. You are a scout ship headed for the Andromeda Galaxy sent to look for potential new worlds for possible population.
I am not going to do this much justice by writing about it, lets just take a look at the trailer released yesterday for the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda.
I have to say I was never wanting another Mass Effect game, I was afraid that using the “Mass Effect” name on a totally different game would just dilute the franchise and appear to be a cash in. This trailer has taken some of the fear away from me, the game looks to be back to form with a narrative that will be gauging but also a world that is filled with familiar and new things alike. I would love to hear your thoughts and feeling on the trailer below.
The other great news is that the Xbox One backwards compatibility list has now increased and includes two exciting games. Mass Effect 2 & 3 will finally be joining the original Mass Effect on Xbox One. These two great games will be available from Xbox One online store as well as previous disc copies being able to work on the Xbox One console.
This can be your chance to have a binge play of a truly great sci-fi epic series before the latest instalment arrives next spring. Be prepared for some interesting elevator banter in the original, a massive gameplay overhaul in the second game and then a change of writer and possible the most controversial ending in gaming history in the trilogies conclusion.
