Call of Duty has been a Goliath of a title, it has been rampaging it’s way through a lot of competition in the FPS category for many years … and usually comes out on top. Though with the next instalment of COD due out in less than a month, it is interesting to see the support for the current game still rolling out.
The DLC pack titled Salvation for Black Ops 3 appears to be plentiful with multiplayer map packs and the final chapter in the Zombies saga titled Revelations. Although the DLC has been exclusive to the PlayStation owners for 30 days, Xbox One (and PC) owners can now get their hands on the most interesting and creative looking updates to the franchise in a long time.
The multiplayer maps included in this pack are –
- Citadel: Once home to a powerful medieval army, this ancient castle now sits broken and abandoned. Tight corners force close-quarters engagements, while the moat and drawbridge allows for unique player movement opportunities in this mid-sized map.
- Micro: What’s better than a BBQ on a hot summer day? A miniaturised war zone that takes place on a well-stocked family picnic table. Navigate this bite-size battlefield for a larger-than-life experience.
- Outlaw: Gear up for a showdown in Outlaw; a western-style re-imagining of the fan favourite map Standoff from Call of Duty®: Black Ops II. This rough-and-tough medium-sized map brings classic engagements, flanking routes and strategic positions for long and medium ranged combat.
- Rupture: The Call of Duty®: World at War classic Outskirts is re-imagined as a high-tech facility, designed by a futuristic society desperate to repair the Earth’s atmosphere. Take control of one of the facility’s mechs to unleash a barrage of heavy machine gun and rocket destruction.
Revelations is best described in the trailer below as it looks like someone took a flick through the Necronomicon before sitting down at the design meeting for the story arc.

If you are a season pass holder then great news, you get this bizarre and interesting mix bag already. Players who are not season pass holders but wish to purchase this separately then it will set you back £11.59 on the Xbox Store.
