Super Mutant Alien Assault launches today on Xbox One and looks like a fun rogue-lite one screen shooter. SMAA is platform shooter that sees players take on levels solo or in local co-op play in frantic shooting action.
Surprise Attack describe it as;
The citizen kane of Super Crate Box clones
Brutal platformer shooting action
- Countless combinations of weapon, explosive, abilities, perks, moves and side-arms to unlock and master
- Solo or local co-op play
- Pumping dubstep soundtrack – wub wub
- Levels are randomised and change much more significantly as players unlock more weapons and abilities. The game launches with twelve stages set across three galaxies and including three bosses. It seems like a fast paced and brutal game, with a nice dose of pixelated blood and gore. Can’t say fairer than that.
- Super Mutant Alien Assault looks like a great throwback to classic arcade games I grew up, but more like Bubble Bobble on extreme levels of testosterone. Remember, it’s available now at £7.99, but according to the app, it’s discounted at £6.39. Check out the carnage in the video after the break.
