Admittedly, I’m old enough to remember fawning over the ultra gory PC release of Carmaggedon way back in the 90s. I’m also not ashamed to admit that I own said game on my phone. I’m also jubilant to announce that I’m happy to see Carmageddon coming back to consoles and hitting Xbox One in July, created by Stainless Games and published by Sold Out.
It’s with giddy glee I look forward to Carmageddon: Max Damage, because it takes me back to a simpler time of friends gathered round a PC, laughing at the stupidity of it all. It’s an absurd game that pulls no punches, as you can see from the “we do” compilation below, and it relishes its silliness like a badge of honour. Wheelchairs, mobility scooters, penguins and cows are targets in this vehicular free-for-all, and there’s not one mention of zombies with green blood.
Max Damage is currently available for pre-order, and doing so will net you two classic cars and two skins to go with them. Also included is a digital comic called “Where Eagles Die,” in reference to the classic Eagle car from the original game.
