Halo 5’s newest update, Memories of Reach, releases on the 12th of May 2016, so I will do a quick breakdown of new REQs, and changes you can find in this newest update.
MAPS AND GAMETYPES
STASIS (ARENA MAP)
A remix of the map Torque, Stasis is a map that’s been in development for a very long time. About 2 years in fact. Inspired by the film “The Thing”, Torque is set in an abandoned snow environment. It’s long corridors make use of the Recon DMR on the map, and it’s large rooms mean you can easily take on a large amount of enemy Spartans with the Rocket Launcher in the top middle of the map. The map also features a range of other items, such as an overshield, and a shotgun.
INFECTION (GAME TYPE)
One of Halo’s most beloved game types returns in this months update. Featuring it’s own playlist, and a range of custom game options to change, Halo 5’s infection game type promises to be the best variant we’ve seen yet. Playing as the Infected is just as much fun as playing as the humans, so hop on Halo 5 and give it a go for yourself.
WEAPONS AND VEHICLES
Brute Plasma Rifle: An extremely memorable weapon from Halo 2 returns to Halo 5. The Brute Plasma rifle strips down shields in an instant and should be feared at close range combat.
Jorge’s Chaingun: A weapon that we sadly didn’t get to use in Halo Reach has now returned in all it’s buff goodness. As legendary mythic weapon, this chaingun promises to help you destroy the enemy team with ease with it’s explosive rounds.
Phaeton Helios: The phaeton is a powerful vehicle at base level, but the Helios variant is even more destructive. Featuring it’s more deadly home in rockets, and a laser weapon that melts enemies like butter on a hot summers day.
EMBLEMS
Emile: A legendary emblem featuring Emile’s visor.
Jorge: A legendary emblem featuring Jorge’s chaingun.
Auntie Dot: An ultra rare emblem featuring the A.Is signature pattern.
Drone: An uncommon emblem featuring, well, drones.
Ten: An uncommon emblem featuring the number 10.
WEAPON SKINS
Azure Dream: A rare skin featuring a lovely blue, white and green pattern.
Blue Team: Legendary skins featuring Blue team’s logo.
Noble Team: Legendary skins featuring Noble team’s logo.
ODST: Ultra rare skins featuring the helljumpers logo.
Osiris Team: Ultra rare skins featuring the Osiris team logo.
Sharktooth Grin: Ultra rare skins featuring a unique grinning shark design.
Spirit of Fire: Ultra rare skins featuring the Spirit of Fire emblem.
UNSC: Rare skins featuring the UNSC logo.
ARMOUR
Indomitable: At legendary mythic level, Indomitable is a remake of Jorge’s armour.
Intruder: At ultra Rare mythic level, Intruder is a remake of Kat’s armour.
Vigilant: At ultra rare mythic level, Vigilant is a remake of Jun’s armour.
Wrath: At legendary mythic level, Wrath is a remake of Emile’s armour.
EVERYTHING ELSE
Helping Hands Assassination: This assassination shows your Spartan knee the enemy to the ground, and breaking his wrist and arm to end him.
Wheelman Armour mod: It has not yet been revealed what this mod does, although it’s thought that due to the name, it’ll have the same effects as Halo 4’s version, such as a shortened EMP effect on your vehicles.
Royal visor: This visor is at rare REQ level and has a nice purple tint.
Brutalist: An uncommon stance showing your Spartan holding the Brute Plasma Rifle.
Vengeance: A legendary stance showing your Spartan holding Jorge’s Chaingun.
Threat Marker attachment: An attachment for the AR, BR, DMR and SMG that allows you to track your enemy’s movement for a short period of time.
