Featuring some of the seminal creators of the DOOM franchise – John Romero and Adrian Carmack at their new startup – Nightwork Studios there was a fair bit of hype regarding their new project BLACKROOM. Unfortunately there has been a setback and the games Kickstarter has been cancelled, just days into its new fundraising campaign.

The Kickstarter has been cancelled for now until a gameplay demo is available to play after mild public dismay of there being no live gameplay available for backers to try out. Despite only being on the popular crowd-funding site for 4 days this is a bold step for them to create a solid experience for the people who are willing to put money down for the development of the full game. Hopefully this move will pay off and net them even more popularity in their second attempt later in the year.

Featuring a highly adaptive level design focused around the unique technologies of the tech. company Hoxar, you will play as an employee with access to incredible powers in a game that claims is the FPS we have all been waiting for. With potential modding being available from the outset, level design by Romero himself as well and terrifying monstrosities to destroy, there is a lot of potential with this upcoming project.
