Today saw the release of the first gameplay footage of ‘The Other 99‘ from UK start up studio Burning Arrow Ltd. The studio has teamed up with Deck 13 who created Lords of the Fallen and it is being developed in the Unreal Engine so we can expect to see some gorgeous artwork.
The Other 99 is a first person survival adventure and from the teaser trailer we can see the beginnings of a narrative, “The only way off the island is through the other 99”. I think what we are going to get is a Firewatch style narrative in a Hunger Games style arena. The Other 99 looks to supply us with a more in depth story and striking visuals compared to other Hunger Games genre such as The Culling on PC. The game is currently targeted for early access in July on Steam so it is most likely we will see The Other 99 make use of the Microsoft Preview program.
