We previously covered and article informing Xbox owners that if they were to digitally pre-purchase Dark Souls 3 they would receive a little extra something. The incentive would be a free digital copy of the original Dark Souls for the Xbox 360, which is due for backwards compatibility release soon which mean also playable on the Xbox One.
A statement released earlier this week informed us of this –
“We are proud to give gamers a variety of ways to purchase and experience their games as well as offering a host of differently timed promotions for those that grab their copies early. With that, we are excited that all digital pre-order and day one physical disc purchases of Dark Souls III for Xbox One will include a copy of the original Dark Souls. If you digitally pre-order Dark Souls III for Xbox One from the Xbox Store, you will receive a token for the original Dark Souls within 7-10 days of your purchase. If you purchase a physical disc of Dark Souls III for Xbox One from a retail store at launch, a digital token for the original Dark Souls will be included with the game at participating retailers while supplies last”.
If you were annoyed that you were loosing out on a free copy of the original Dark Souls (and did not pick it up on Games with Gold) then this is your chance to grab a copy.
I know I am very much looking forward to the games release in April and look forward to the torture and punishment this game puts you through to get that satisfying feeling for completion.
