An anime based beat-em-up title might not be the first thing you think of exactly when you expect to watch e-sports. Though the recently released NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: ULTIMATE NINJA STORM 4 has not only been well received as its ability in the genre but has received support to go ahead and be the focus of an e-sports tournament.
Product manager for Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, Benoit Scappazzoni had this to say –
“For the past few years we have been monitoring the growth of the STORM community across Europe, Middle-East, Africa and Australasia but also the growing interest around the competition. Last year we have launched the STORM-LEAGUE, a platform to support those activities… This year we go even further by organizing the first season of the STORM Championship through the STORM-LEAGUE! The first season will have a total cash prize of 15 000€ and starts this week! Get ready for epic battles and see you at the finals in the ESL Studio (Cologne)!”
The competition is open to all platforms which will have all their own qualifying brackets. Though with the first qualifier taking place tomorrow you better get a move on if your interested at all.
