The single most common trend in modern gaming appears to be the Season Pass. This for people who do not know it the pre-purchasing of digital expansions to a game, some games have it as a staple and is extremely predictable and other games it comes as a shock.
Dark Souls 3 announcing that there will be a season pass available is a little shocking but yet exciting as this means the game will have numerous additions to the story after its release.
A press release from Bandai Namco reported the following on the Season Pass announcement.
“Additionally, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe also announced a Season Pass programme for DARK SOULS III. “Artorias of the Abyss” (DARK SOULS) and the “The Lost Crowns” (DARK SOULS II) were known for expanding the experience of DARK SOULS in a meaningful way and the season pass for DARK SOULS III will carry on this tradition by supporting the game with exciting new content after launch. The season pass will be available on all platforms along with a digital Deluxe Edition: which includes the main game, season pass, dynamic theme and official soundtrack. Further details will be revealed over the next few months.”
More Dark Souls 3 rewards for Xbox One owners though, for a limited time if you digital pre-order Dark Souls 3 from Xbox Live you will receive a digital code for the original Dark Souls game for the Xbox 360. The game has been confirmed to be appearing on backwards compatibility on Xbox One which means more gaming for your money. The code for Dark Souls will be delivered to your Xbox via message in 7-10 days.
