If there’s one thing that the Xbox One is currently lacking, it’s a good next-gen rally title (sorry, WRC 2015). Of course, thanks to backwards compatibility, you can now play the still-outstanding DiRT 3 on your system, but Codemasters aren’t going to make you wait much longer for a full next-gen experience, as they have now announced that DiRT Rally has exited Early Access on Steam and will now be making its way to Xbox One in April 2016.

Leaning a little more towards the realism side of the scale than previous iterations of the series, DiRT Rally will provide petrolheads with a ton of settings to mess with, whilst still catering to the more casual racers among us (myself included). The game will feature:
- “Over 40” of the most iconic and relevant cars from yesteryear through to modern day, representing the cars that the community have expressed interest in, and the ones that make the most sense for the surfaces they race on,
- Six rallies with over 70 stages, featuring the muddy paths of Wales, the dusty trails of Greece and the icy tarmac of Monte Carlo, along with the legendary hillclimb of Pikes Peak, the snowy thrills of Sweden, and the epic scenery of Finland,
- Official FIA World Rally Cross content with the Lydden Hill, Holjes and Hell tracks in six off-road cars,
- A completely rebuilt physical simulation, with the creation of brand new models for differential, suspension, engine mapping and turbo modelling – Codemasters has also modelled the way in which loose surfaces collect under the wheels during lateral sliding, which they say will create a completely new feel to sliding around corners,
- Team management, allowing you to hire and fire your crew members each of whom which will have different skills, improving repair times for different parts of the car,
- Racenet league support for you and your friends to run your own racing league , allowing you to join or create unlimited leagues and run them how and when you want,
- Daily, weekly and monthly Racenet challenges to earn in-game credits to improve your car and team.
