It took longer than most anticipated or hoped for, but Konami have today announced that the first major update for Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 will drop on all platforms this Thursday.
As well as an update to all team rosters, the update will see the Live Form ratings from last year’s entry implemented, as in-form and out-of-form players will see their in-game statistics boosted or “nerfed”, depending on their real-life form. It will also see a number of team kits updated and several new cosmetic touches will be added, including new football boots, advertising hoardings and stadia décor. Lastly, over 70 players have been updated as part of the PES ID system, which translates likeness, as well as play-style and skill to the game.
Of course, it remains disappointing that downloadable data files remain a no-go on Microsoft’s platforms, but this looks set to be a pretty decent update. Although, sadly, rumours of a brass neck being added to Jose Mourinho’s character model have proven to be untrue.
