In news that’s sure to be of interest to Xbox One owners awaiting news on the games to be made available through Xbox 360 backwards compatibility, EA’s Chief Operating Officer Peter Moore has told IGN in an interview that EA has little interest in producing HD remakes of titles from the last generation.
In a piece written by Mitch Dyer, Moore said “It feels like pushing stuff out because you’ve run out of ideas.”, adding that “…because of who we are, and this broad portfolio of intellectual property… you add all that together, I don’t know where we find the time to do remakes.”.
This would appear to quash long-standing rumours of a remastered Mass Effect trilogy, but raises the possibility of Mass Effect 2 and 3 coming to join the original on the list of Xbox 360 games that you’ll be able to play on the Xbox One. Of course, it also raises the possibility of a whole plethora of other EA titles making their way to the service over time.
That would be great news, particularly for fans of obscure arcade-style baseball games. Come on, The Bigs 2!
