Despite the hype surrounding the asymmetrical shooter, Evolve debuted on PC, PS4 and Xbox One this February to underwhelming sales and 2K Games and Turtle Rock Studios undoubtedly want more players to experience their game. So what better way to get more players on the servers and money in the bank than to make Evolve free for all Xbox One owners this weekend providing you have an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Simply head on over to the Deals with Gold section and install the pretty hefty 31.93GB download and get playing. If your internet speed means that it’ll take at least a day for the download to complete you don’t need to worry since the free “weekend” lasts until 11:59PM PDT on September 7th, Labor Day. Or for us Brits, 7:59AM September 8th. Four monsters, 18 hunters and 19 maps will be available for players to sample and what’s more, for those who already own Evolve, the Meteor Goliath (a variant to the regular Goliath) will remain permanently free.
