It’s that time of year again. A new elite European soccer season has kicked off and that means a new installment of the beloved FIFA franchise is just around the corner.
Well, not quite.
Last summer, both EA Sports and FIFA – world soccer’s governing body – were in the headlines as they announced that they would not be renewing their licensing agreement.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino was looking for $1bn in exchange for a four-year rights deal, a figure that the Canadian game’s producer was clearly unwilling to pay. That brings to an end the pair’s three-decade-long partnership, but it won’t bring to an end the beloved soccer simulation franchise.
EA Sports announced earlier in the year that they would be rebranding the series under a new banner named EA Sports FC. The inaugural installment in the newly christened franchise will be released this year and there’s plenty to be excited about. Here are some things that we cannot wait for ahead of the release.

Ever since FIFA 09, Ultimate Team has been the money maker for EA Sports. Then there was the feared AS Roma attacking trident of Victor Ibarbo, Gervinho, and Seydou Doumbia. In EA Sports FC 24, we feel that the Saudi Professional League will be one to be feared.
Throughout the summer transfer window, a plethora of top stars have all headed to Saudi Arabia. Former Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo was the first to head to the Saudi Pro League, and he has since been joined by reigning Balon d’Or holder Karim Benzema, as well as his French international teammate N’Golo Kante.
Other stars such as Sadio Mane, a UEFA Champions League winner with Liverpool, and
former Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozović, have also made the transition.
A superstar team can be assembled with players from the Saudi Pro League, and we’re imagining that the players playing in the division will cost a mere fraction of the price of their European counterparts.
