The Coalition (who are now at the Gear helm) announced today today that sales for the Ultimate Edition have been very well received and the game has already went gold prior to its launch date. For people that do not know, going gold means the game has sold 500,000 units. This is a promising start to The Coalition taking over the Gears franchise and it shows that people are still in love with the game series, so this will give a rough prediction to how Gears of War 4 will sell in the future upon its release.

The team at The Coalition have released a special behind-the-scenes video to celebrate the games sales to date, this video is available to view on the companies official website which can be found – HERE.

The Ultimate Edition will come in two digital editions from the Xbox Live store –

  • Standard Edition £29.99 – The fully remastered trilogy (Gears 1, 2 & 3) and if you buy before the games release you will have the pro-order bonus of Adam Fenix and Civilian Anya multiplayer skins and Animated Imulsion weapon skins.
  • Deluxe Edition (£44.99) – All the same features as the standard edition plus 46 different weapon skins and Civilian Marcus Fenix and Aaron Griffin multiplayer characters.
