New details have been divulged around the sudden rise of Dark Souls 3 and its sudden appearance at the Microsoft press conference at E3 2015. Now fans of the series like myself might have been a little worried that the game seems to be rather rushed on its release so shortly after we got to experience Dark Souls 2 in March 2014.
From Software have actually had this game in development for a while, and this development actually started back when Dark Souls 2 started. The original Dark Souls director Hidetaka Miyazaki is back at the helm; Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne were developed side by side and allowed Miyazki to split his time between the two games equally. So for people who felt Dark Souls 2 was a little lacklustre and left you feeling that you had experienced a imitation Souls game, do not worry – if anything, Dark Souls 3 will be returning to the roots of what made the majority of us fall in love with Dark Souls.

Each style of weapon will now have a sword art attack when wielded with both hands, allowing for some kind of special unique attack with each weapon. Weapons like the great-sword have been more styled to resemble characters from the Berserker anime; as well as new great-sword animations the bow and arrows will have increased firing rates and this is apparently modeled after Legolas from the Lord of the Rings films. Parry and back stabs are more like the original game where animations for these actions will be instantaneous rather than ever so slightly delayed in Dark Souls 2. Though back stabs will still be hard to achieve, like they were in Dark Souls 2, allowing for a harder PvP experience.
I will be looking forward to covering a lot more about this game in the upcoming months and looking forward even more to the early release window on the Xbox One.
