With E3 a mere 11 days away, details are now being revealed for the expo’s indie focused area, IndieCade. One of these reveals is that exploration game Shape of the World is going to feature as one of the games to be showcased at the event, with an opportunity for players to get hands on with an early version.

Being developed by Hollow Tree Games Inc- whose staff includes Stu Maxwell who has previously worked on the Gears of War series- The Shape of the world is a first person exploration game that puts the player in a procedurally populated environment with the intention of getting lost and losing yourself in the beautiful landscape it is set in. In the trailer you can really grasp how large and interesting the world is- note that the trailer is made up of in-game footage only.

The game is currently up for crowd funding on Kickstarter (link here) and as of writing this, it has raised $11,404 of its $75,000 in just four days. Backing rewards start from $10 but you’ll have to pledge at least $25 to be rewarded with an Xbox One version of the game. Other rewards include t-shirts, prints and a copy of the soundtrack.

IndieCade had been going for over eight years now and has predicted many successes including Braid, and for those of you who are lucky enough to be attending E3 you can find the Indiecade at booth number 2835.
