Anyone who’s not a member of the Xbox Live Preview Program, which allows users to test and get a sneak peak at upcoming features coming to the Xbox One console, we have some details about what’s coming to the console in April.
Recently, Party Chat has been hit with a bit of an upgrade to help anyone who’s been having trouble talking to their friends. Now, within the app, you get a nice little error message informing you of any issues that crop up when you’re attempting to chat with people. This can be anything from network issues to your connect being switched off. There’s a handy little link that’ll take you where you need to go to fix these issues too.
Keeping onto voice chat in it’s forms, Voice Messages themselves are coming back. You’ll be able to record short voice messages and send them to your friends, to save time on typing out any messages. What’s great about this feature is that it will be cross-platform, meaning they can go back and forth between the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. This is great for those who still use both consoles and are online on different set ups at different times.
The final big change is to the achievement notifications. Now, when you hear that pop, you get the name of the achievement, it’s gamerscore and the description of it. This means that there’s less fumbling around to figure out what you’ve just done. They’ve also added improvements to the achievement app itself, meaning it should load a bit faster so you’re not sitting waiting to be killed (if you’re playing online at least) while you’re eager to see more details about what you just accomplished.
While some of these are just minor, there’s other work in the pipeline to improve the Xbox One, as Microsoft continues to update the console on a monthly basis. It’s great to see the continued support on the console, making sure it’ll be improving for years to come.
