Rare Earth have partnered with Coffee Stain Publishing for a new cross-plaftorm, co-op action IP! This caught our attention due to recognising Coffee Stain as the publishers who partnered with Ghost Ship Games for the fantastic Deep Rock Galactic, which came to Early Acess and Xbox Game Preview in 2017. Since then it has gone on to be hugely successful and long since passed the 1 million player mark!

Who are Rare Earth?
Rare Earth is a studio based in Vienna, Austria and includes more than 20 personele made up from veteran teams like Rockstar Games and Deep Silver. The idea of a co-op, cross platform action game sounds very exciting and Rare Earth are recruiting, particularly across Germany, Austria and Switzerland!
The promising partnership will allow the new studio to keep working on this new IP, while receiving support from publishers Coffee Stain; known for supporting some of the best received indie games such as, Valheim, Deep Rock Galactic and Satisfactory.

The Rare Earth Studio co-founders, Michael Borras, Peter Ehardt and Helmut Hutterer have worked together on multiple projects prior, including the Grand Theft Auto and Max Payne franchises. The industry veterans are happy to have Rare Earth join the Coffee Stain Publishing portfolio.
Helmut Hutterer, the Game Director and Creator of Rare Earth’s upcoming IP, is running lead on development. Helmut has over 20 years game design and production experience. Further to this, Rare Earth are also still looking to grow it’s team by at least 20. These ambitous plans for growth combined with the experience within the current teams, have us looking forward to finding out more!
Some exciting words from Coffee Stain and Rare Earth teams
Albert Säfström, CEO of Coffee Stain Publishing, told us: “Rare Earth is an exciting studio and we’re pleased to be working with them and help make their first IP an original and unforgettable one. Coffee Stain has much in common with Rare Earth, and what we both value in our gaming experiences, and that bodes well for the future.”
Michael Borras, CEO of Rare Earth added: “Even before joining the Embracer Group, everyone at Rare Earth had a deep admiration for the care that Coffee Stain puts into all of its games and communities. We’re beyond excited to start this journey together with the team at Coffee Stain Publishing and can’t wait to show players what we’re brewing up together.”
We at Gamerhub are very excited to see what this exciting combination of studio and publisher can conjure up. Based on the stage of recruitment process, it could be that it might be a while before we see this game. What we do know though, is that it is a very interesting concept in very good hands.
