Free-to-Play tank battle simulator, World of Tanks, has had some success on Xbox 360, with 5.4 million downloads and some 52 million hours played. As one of the first free games on the platform, it was a breath of fresh air to those who game on a budget, or just like good deals and tanks.
For any of those who have upgraded and were disappointed that the One didn’t have the free to play explosion fest, some good news has appeared in the form of a trailer from IGN (seen here). Not only that, but because the game will share servers and accounts, not only will your progress carry over from the last generation version of the game, but World of Tanks on the Xbox One and 360 will be able to support cross-platform play. Anyone who has friends who haven’t upgraded and still want to play games together, rejoice!
Xbox Live Gold members will be able to freely download the game when it’s released, while non-gold members will be able to try 7 days for free.
It’s unsure when exactly the game will be released, but it’s pretty clear that we’ll hear more about it come E3.
