If you are as into RPGs as I am, you too have been crying out for co-op capabilities on some of your favourite RPGs out there, without them being an MMO and losing that connection to the world. The introduction of NPC companions into games did give me hope, but nothing really came of it. Indeed it is a pretty taxing mechanic to include with wide, open environments, real choice and consequence diversity and intelligent NPC AI and the thirst for pretty graphics. Nevertheless, it is something that i think would certainly breath new life into certain RPGs or help mix up the formula from time-to-time.
Enter The Last Oricru
Currently in development by GoldKnights and Prime Matter, The Last Oricru is an action RPG. It has recently just had a demo release, playable for the PC audience until Feb 28th. The Last Oricru places a strong emphasis on the dynamic storytelling that is driven by player’s decisions. Music to the ears of RPG fans everywhere.
Discover the Medieval Sci-Fi world of Wardenia
In The Last Oricru players start by waking up in the living and breathing Sci-Fi/Medieval world of Wardenia, during the middle of a civil war for supremacy over the planet. Players will need to master skill-based combat, be subject to mass fights and eradicate a dark conspiracy overshadowing the once so peaceful land. Choose your own path, side with the different factions or betray them, influence the outcome of the war with real choice and consequence! The Last Oricru is designed as both a single-player and a coop experience. The coop experience will certainly interest those like me, who love RPGs but also enjoy playing with friends in couch coop or online! It smartly operates with a drop-in, drop-out mechanic. Player 1 being the main character with the decisions to make, but players are able to play levels as they so choose. Levelling is scaled to Player 1’s level. Catch the dev diary video for it below for more details!
Having missed this game perviously, Gamerhub will be keeping a close eye on it’s development moving forward, as it is scheduled to release in 2022 for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 and PC.
