Yesterday Ubisoft released the newest and possible more intriguing video about Assassins Creed Unity. The Assassins Creed series has always chose a setting in time where significant historical events took place; such as the American revolution, Italian renaissance or the crusades. The upcoming Unity will focus on the French revolution and and events of one of the countries most violent times …… or so we thought.

From the footage we see a problem with the Animus and causing the Animus user to be dragged from the late 1700’s into the 1940’s during the events of the second world war.

The trailer shows footage of Arno scaling the side of the Eiffel tower with has German occupation banners hung up on its frame. Planes are also featured in the trailer as well as automatic guns and trains.

This is a very interesting move from Ubisoft who have never tried to alter the existing timeline in a game, if you don’t count the present day storyline in the Assassins Creed games. It is unsure whether this is in game content or possibly DLC content as of yet, either way it is exciting to find out more to this side of the story and also gives hint to the modern day story line in Assassins Creed Unity.

Assassins Creed Unity will be released for Xbox One on 11/11/2014
