Now, Dracula and Colony Simulation Game, not something you’d usually think about when it does come to gaming. However, Astirian-Rae Games have today announced that their upcoming game, Dracula’s Castle, will be leaving the shows and joining Steam in 2022!
In Dracula’s Castle, players must take on being, the one and only, Dracula, as he prepares to disembark the shadows of his Transylvanian Castle and embark on a new adventure – to England. But he can’t do this alone – so he’s gonna need to do some recruiting! Or biting?
“I wanted to make an accessible management game but I also wanted to take a deep dive into some of the vampire lore that I sort of really fell in love with in the early 90’s.” said Daragh Wickham of Astirian-Rae Games. “I’m a huge fan of the kind of classical take on vampires — you know, the sort of pre-industrial era, dawn of the new world space. Lots of harpsichord. And I’m tremendously excited to wrap that feeling around some of the RPG elements that usually tend to sit well with the base building genre.”
Using the shadows, Dracula must recruit his minions from the Transylvanian towns, while avoiding the legendary vampire hunter, Abraham Van Helsing.
Within Dracula’s Castle (the game), you can also do a bit of customising, maybe give that ol’ castle a lick of paint? No?
You can even customise Dracula himself, adjusting his traits to your playing style, making him either a stealthy or a aggressive vampire – depends on what kind of vampire lore you believe in there!
