There has been a lot of hype surrounding Destiny, which has been proved by becoming the most pre-ordered new IP to date. This made me ask myself what is going to make this game iconic. Well, this is Bungie we are talking about and if there is one key factor that draws a crowd into a Bungie game; it’s the characters that they create.
Upon starting the game you are given an option to choose a character based on certain skill sets.
If you’re a bit of a brawler and like to get in the thick of the action, then the Titan class is for you.

Prefer to be more stealthy? Are sniper rifles and throwing knifes your kind of thing? Then you will want to choose to be a hunter.

Not liking any of the above? Does magic float your boat, then a Warlock you will want.

Each Guardian has it’s own set of skills and customisation. Once you start to level up you can choose a path along the set out skill sets. The levelling up system is simple but satisfactory. You will never find yourself stuck on what and how to upgrade next as it is presented and explained very clearly. As with all RPG’s, the higher the level the more powerful you become with amour and weapons being fully customisable.
Each Guardian also has a special skill it can use.
Titans can jump up in the air and produce a mighty shockwave when hitting the ground, wiping out any nearby enemies.

The Hunter class can obtain an unbeatable golden gun that, with one shot, decimates your enemies.

Warlocks have the ability to throw a ball of energy that vapourises all that are close.

On top of all this you have the option to choose a race for your Guardian to be. The options you have are Human, the robot race Exo, and the humanoid aliens, the Awoken. Once a race is chosen you can customise your characters features (face, hair, scars, etc). It all feels very “Mass Effect” in it’s approach to customisation, which is in no way a bad move.

So the question remains…..Which Guardian will you be?
