There’s been a huge surge of interest over the past couple of years in Slenderman, a modern day legend created for the internet. Initially a story dubbed Marble Hornets, it featured an antagonist known as Slenderman, a tall figure seemingly in a suit, with elongated extremities that has been seen in photos posted in the Something Awful forums. This blew up, and became extremely popular, leading to the release of a game called Slender: The Eight Pages.

It was a simple survival horror game where you traversed a dark wood looking for eight pages around the environment, all the time trying to keep away from the monster that is Slenderman. Eventually, a full sequel, The Arrival, was made, with the help of some of the creators of the Marble Hornets Series.

Initially only on PC, Slender: The Arrival is now coming to the previous generation of consoles on the 24th of September for around $10. New story elements and extended levels will be added that explore the mythos behind Slenderman, and brings the scares to consoles. Meanwhile, the PC is getting this additional content as free DLC.

So if you’re looking for a scare before Halloween, this may be a good bet.
