Among all the E3 madness, this little gem was announced for Xbox One release via the ID@Xbox self-publishing program. Plague Inc. was originally released as a mobile game and in the last few months has been available via Steam too. I have to say I am extremely excited to see how the game differs from the mobile version.
Plague Inc: Evolved is a mix of strategy and realistic simulation – basically, the goal is to infect and kill the entire world without being noticed. It’s one of the best mobile games I have ever played and I am confident it will be a hit on consoles too. In the last two years Plague Inc. has become the 2nd most popular mobile game with over 25 million players have enjoyed killing off the entire human race in the least amount of days possible.
Here are some screenshots which were released alongside the E3 announcement.

Now, I’m coming purely from the point of view of someone who has only played the mobile version and not the PC version (I’ve dabbled but I haven’t got enough knowledge to compare), and there definitely seems to be more going on in the console version, which is what you would expect. Personally I thought there was a lot of information and mechanics in the mobile version, so I am intrigued to find out what will be added to the console version.
As well as 3D graphics, players will have the ability to create their own content and play competitive or co-op multiplayer. This kind of competitive game would be well-suited to multiplayer gaming and I look forward to seeing how it turns out!
The mobile version was pretty limited in terms of diseases available, and the console version promises more! Newer diseases included in the PC version include the Neurax Worm, the Necroa Virus, the Black Death and the 30,000 year old Frozen Pithovirus.
Plague Inc: Evolved will be coming to Xbox One in the near future!
