As fans of State of Decay will know, the Lifeline DLC was announced just the other day for expected release on the 30th May. There was plenty of touching wood and numerous Deities who were surely being asked favours to make sure that all went smoothly for the final few days over at UndeadLabs; just to bring Lifeline to the Marketplace before State of Decay’s 1st anniversary. Well we’re pleased to announce they made the release date and Lifeline is available to download now! (And go with the party poppers and Vuvuzela’s)
For those of you wondering what it is you’ll be getting in Lifeline well you’re placed into the boots of Greyhound One, a military unit sent into a zombie-infested city to rescue the team of scientists who can put an end to the outbreak. Lifeline features a new map, new characters, and a new way to play: Defend your base against hordes of zombies, using the best military equipment and personnel your unit can scrape together. The fate of the city is in your hands. How many people can you save?
Already positive feedback is flying in about about Lifeline, take this from idigitaltimes.com:-
“Rather than adding a few hours onto the existing State of Decay narrative, the Lifeline expansion offers an entirely new campaign; one which is likely to take you more than one attempt (and quite a few hours) to complete successfully…I’m not sure there’s a zombie-survival game on the market (single or multiplayer) that currently holds a candle to the State of Decay franchise, and the Lifeline expansion only extends Undead Labs’ lead over its competitors.”
And for those of you reading “new campaign” or thinking after you’ve finished, ‘Will I ever boot it back up?’ this has been countered with this comment from realgamernewz.com,
“What you can get in this DLC exceeds the price tag as it is intense, replayable, and overall a blast to play. If you were expecting just another version of Breakdown, you were wrong. What Lifeline feels like to me is the opposite of Breakdown* and that isn’t even close to a flaw.” (Breakdown was State of Decay’s first DLC, Vil)
Here at XBLG we’ve managed to get our hands on a review copy and we plan to play this game to death (pun intended) before we hand over the review by the end of the week, so keep your eyes open and until that point enjoy the Lifeline trailer.
