This series of developer diaries from the guys at Creative Assembly is proving to be a really wonderful watch, especially the latest where we dare you to watch with the lights out and the headphones on! It is proof of just how hard these guys are working to capture the spirit of the original Alien film.
Featuring new footage, the Insider Video reveals all-new details on the soundscape of Alien: Isolation.
In this behind-the-scenes look, the studio leads and audio developers discuss key aspects of sound and score. Discover details on inspirations from Jerry Goldsmith as well as the reactive audio system working with the unpredictable behaviour of the ultimate hunter, the Alien.
This Thursday, Creative Assembly follow this diary up with the second of their podcasts with the audio developers, available to stream and download.
In the podcast, PRIORTY ONE: Episode 2: Audio Log 002 – PERCY, Nee will be talking to Lead Audio Designer Mark Angus and Audio Designers Byron Bullock and Sam Cooper. Key members of the audio team, these developers are charged with the responsibility of perfecting the ambience and acoustics of the game.
Like the previous podcast, not only will fans be getting to know the audio team and their roles in Alien: Isolation, but there’s also the chance to ask them your questions. If there’s a musical or audio-related question that’s been on the tip of your tongue, then this is the moment to ask it!
Send your questions to [email protected] with the subject title: PRIORITY ONE: Sound of Alien: Isolation. The best questions will be put to the studio team during the podcast.
