For those of you who are wanting in on the Doom Beta that is bundled with pre-orders of the new Wolfenstein game, there is some good and bad news for customers. Though all versions of the game comes with a pre-order, if you buy the game for Xbox 360, the code for the beta for the upcoming Doom game will be for the Xbox One version. This is the same with Sony’s platforms, with PC users having no issues with this.
The information was posted in an FAQ that was recently updated on the Wolfenstein Website, essentially confirming there will be no beta for the previous generation consoles. The code will be provided in boxed versions of the game via an insert with the code printed on it. For those buying the game digitally, Bethesda is working with Steam, Sony and Microsoft to ensure all the customers are given access to the beta.
The FAQ makes sure to note that if you want to ensure access to the beta, then pre-ordering would be the way to go. Wolfenstein: The New Order releases on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One on May 23rd in Europe, and on the 20th in North America.
