Satya Nadella has sent an email out regarding changes to the organization of Microsoft, and this contains some new changes made to the Xbox Team. Phil Spencer has been asked to take on a new leading role at Xbox, so that the Xbox, Xbox Live, Xbox Music, Xbox Video and Microsoft Studios team are all working together under the head of one person. This is to combine their efforts for software, gaming and content across the Xbox Team, and making sure that everything is being lead towards the same goal at the same time.
Phil Spencer, who became the general manger of Microsoft Game Studios in 2008, has helped with the creation of many of Microsoft’s first party games, and it sounds like Nadella is extremely happy with putting him in charge of the entire Xbox Brand at Microsoft, and generally this seems like a positive move.
This could mean great new things for Xbox in general, so it’s exciting to see what will be coming from this new development as time goes on, and where the Xbox One will be heading in the future. Things are gearing up towards E3 in a few months, and it seems likely that Microsoft are going to push heavily this year to make sure everyone will be able to see the power of the Xbox brand.
