As the title of this article suggests there are 2 possible upcoming Assassins Creed game to be released this coming Autumn. The first entitled Assassins Creed Unity may be one of the games. According to Kotaku, this game will release on Xbox One and PS4 and is set, at least partially, in 18th century Paris. The other Assassins Creed game, called Comet will release on Xbox 360 and PS3.
Now, being a HUGE fan of the Assassins Creed franchise I am unsure how I feel about having 2 potential Assassins Creed games. Up until this point, there has been one game released on all available platforms, which followed the same story. Now that AC4 has set the mark with not following the story of Desmond, but rather the story of Assassins v Templars… I have the unwanted feeling of being left out. What if some new story is unveiled in Unity, which is then referenced in Comet? Yes, it will allow for some variation in the franchise and may even entice players to purchase the new console to play Unity, which might not be a bad idea.

The screenshots obtained by Kokatu showcases Parisian locales such as Notre Dame and the Seine River, as well as a new male assassin adorned in a black uniform, brandishing a rapier and holstering at least one pistol. Also noticeable in this screenshot is the button interface which shows a new parkour up and parkour down navigation system.

We have already 2 games set in the 18th century and frankly I would prefer another period in history. The only event that happened at this time in France was the French Revolution and the rise of Napoleon Boneparte. If you remember, Assassins Creed producer Jade Raymond said that the next game would be set during her favourite historical era. Also, an email in-game of AC4 pointed to one of potential settings of future games being the French Revolution.
With all the rumours and suspicions surrounding the setting of the next AC game, it is starting to look more likely that it will be set during the French Revolution. We may yet be surprised by the final reveal, but until then we can only speculate. We will update you with all current information as it is received.
