With this month being ‘update’ month for the Xbox One, here is another that might peak your interest. Microsoft is working on an external hard-drive support which will boost the memory capacity of the console.
This will be introduced in a forthcoming update, not this month’s, alongside improvements to friend notifications; both a welcoming improvement to the console.
Marc Whitten, Chief Product Officer at Xbox told Xbox Wire when discussing the Titanfall updates that:
“We value all of the feedback we’re getting from you”. We know external hard drive storage is another big one on your list; it’s on our list too. We’re working on that for a future update and will keep you posted”.
Whitten also stated that similarly to the Xbox 360, there will be regular updates to the Xbox One; some will be big and some will be smaller. “Big or small, we’re committed to delivering continuous innovation through system updates like this one”.
Other updates that Microsoft began rolling out this week introduced Dolby Digital 5.1 optical sound support and multi-player improvements in preparation for the release of Titanfall next week.
An update to the Twitch app will also arrive on March 11.
