With the February update taking a little longer than expected to be rolled out, Marc Whitten, Chief Product Officer has issued a blog post detailing some of the updates that will be coming in early March.
Xbox have prided themselves on having the best multi-player service for Xbox 360, and I can’t deny that statement, and have expressed that they have listened to the feedback provided by the users to incorporate on Xbox One and Xbox Live.
So here are some of the details to expect from the March update:
- Get to your friends faster. Your friends list will not be front and centre on the homepage of the Friends app. You simply click the Social tile on Home or say “Xbox, go to Friends” to see who’s online and what they’re doing. You can then quickly send them messages and get into a party.
- Party chat will be turned on by default.
- Chat with friends playing different games. Party chat will be separated from people playing your game, so you can chat with your friends who are online or you can chat with everyone playing the game.
- An Invite Friends to Game option will be added to multi-player titles moving forward. This feature will appear inside a games menu and offer a simple and quicker way to set up multi-player sessions. This feature will work similarly to Xbox 360.
- Recent Players feature will be added. This is simply a list that shows all the players that played the same multi-player session, making it easier to keep in touch and add new friends.
These updates will come in early March. The intention is to have these updates available before the release of Titanfall. These are simply a few of the features that will be included in this update, and there will be more details about further improvements in the coming weeks.
