With David Morris’ article about Watch Dogs and the fact that Far Cry Classic is available as a digital download on XBLA and PSN; Ubisoft have now announced that Far Cry: The Wild Expedition Compilation will be released in the UK on February 21st.
It’s hard to believe that it has been 10 years since the first Far Cry game and this compilation is to celebrate that anniversary. The Wild Expedition Compilation will include: Far Cry Classic, Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.
Since its debut in 2004, Far Cry has become one of the most acclaimed and beloved FPS franchises, proposing a unique and fresh take on the genre with each new release. It managed to seduce and entice the players on the franchise by providing them with stunning quality and depth of experiences that you couldn’t find anywhere else.
Not much difference in ten years, which proves the quality of the game when it was first released
All of the games have scored at least 80% or above on Metacritic and Far Cry 3 was the highest rated shooter of 2012. This was according to a review aggregate of 91% on Xbox 360. This is a perfect opportunity for any avid Far Cry fans, or those new to the franchise, to pick up the Wild Expedition Compilation to discover or re-discover all the main Far Cry opuses that have left a mark in the video-games landscape. This is from the innovations of the original game, to the retro and futuristic chaos of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.
Far Cry: The Wild Expedition Compilation is available on Xbox 360, PS3 for £29.99 and on PC for £24.99. It is available in all EMEA countries. In addition, you can also purchase Far Cry Classic as a standalone downloadable title on XBLA and PSN for £7.99. It will be released on February 12 in Europe.
