Capcom has announced the release date for the new Strider game. Developed by Double Helix Games, in conjunction with Capcom, Strider features side scrolling combat that is fast and free flowing, much like earlier entries to the franchise way back when. It will be released on the 19th of February for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One for £11.99 and might be interesting to those who played the old games as it sounds like it stays close to the old ways of doing things.

It was also revealed that two Challenge modes will be added to the core Story Mode, “Beacon Run” and “Survival Mode”. The former has a speed run style and challenges players to hit consecutive checkpoints while murdering any enemies in their path, of course in the shortest amount of time. Meanwhile, Survival is just as it sounds, with different item and ability load outs, it’s your job to beat of waves of progressively different and diverse enemies.

Leaderboards will be available for all modes and even sets of costumes will be available to unlock. It sounds like this might be a great game coming to the downloadable marketplace. Not even that long to wait!
