It has been about a year since For the King was out of early access on PC with it’s full release in April 2018. In that year the Rogue-like RPG became a massive hit with the fans, so much so that Curve Digital and IronOak Games have been hard at work on console versions and today marks the release on Xbox. To celebrate the occasion there is a 20% discount on the game, but only for two weeks so get it while you can!

For the King combines turn-based strategy, a tabletop setting and rogue-like elements to make a challenging adventure in the land of Fahrul. Chaos has rained down upon this once peaceful kingdom when the King is mysteriously assassinated, prompting the Queen to make a call to arms for her citizens to rise up and make a stand against the horrors that befall them. You have to put an end to the chaos for the good of your realm, and of course For the King!

You can choose to fight alone, local co-op or online multiplayer. Not enough games have a local co-op option these days so this is great to see and set to be great fun with friends and family. Whoever you choose to team up with, every adventure will be different and unique with procedurally generated maps, quests and events.
Every battle will generate Lore, which is the currency in for the King. This can be used to purchase new characters, customisation, options, locations, encounters and items to further vary and enhance your time in Fahrul.
And to add even more to the adventure, the console versions of For the King will come with all of the DLC previously released on PC – for FREE!!
If this looks like your cup of tea then don’t forget to make the most of the 20% discount for the next two weeks. Without the discount the game is still only £19.99/24.99 so that’s quite a steal anyway.
