Open world fantasy adventure game Outward will be released onto Xbox One on the 26th March 2019. The fantasy RPG, currently being developed by Nine Dots, will be set in a rich immersive world.

Players will play as an inhabitant of a living world where they will need to fight for survival against the harsh environment. Outward will also feature a deep simulation that will require biological maintenance and self preservation. These mechanics also tie into the games magic system, which is seen as an intricate web used to summon supernatural powers within the user.  The game also features a persistent auto-save where you must live with every action, right or wrong.

What’s unusual for an open world game is that Outward will also feature a two player local split-screen and will also be playable over Xbox Live. This allows for two friends to team up as allies to tackle the worlds threats and opens up unique combat and strategy combinations.

The latest trailer showcases the rich fantasy world and highlights the various obstacles that present themselves to the players avatar as they travel through the games world.  As a normal Human we are tasked to forge our own path through a world where the environment is just as likely to kill us as the monsters that call this place home.
