During the Xbox E3 2018 conference, Xbox head Phil Spencer announced to the audience and everyone watching that the brands commitment to first party titles is strong. They announced that 5 studios are coming under the banner of Xbox to create exclusive first party titles, to the fans delight.
The first was The Initiative, a newly created Santa Monica based studio that will be working on something not yet know. Undead Labs, the creators of the State of Decay series have come under the Microsoft/Xbox banner after creating 2 State of Decay titles. Playground Games, the team behind the Forza series are finally officially a first party studio. Compulsion Games are the team behind the heavily stylised We Happy Few, have come on board to create games for Xbox. Though most shockingly of all, Ninja Theory have signed up to come on board with Xbox after winning big with their latest game Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, though in past years they have created great titles such as DmC: Devil May Cry, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and PlayStation 3 exclusive Heavenly Sword.
