Hello ladies, gentlemen and those of a non-binary nature, my name is Daibhi and this is the part two of my Thumb Soldiers review. In the first part, I reviewed the initial experience and what the racing wheel meant for my gaming experience. In this review, we check out the rest. On a personal note, for those who didn’t see my reviews when I was gone, there’s a lot more coming from me. So, the racing wheel is freaking awesome, what else is there? Read on, and I’ll be happy to explain.

What are Thumb Soldiers?

Thumb Soldiers aren’t toys with military chips inside of them. Nor are they menaces to suburban neighbourhoods in a fight with the Gorgons. They’re aids to help those with disabilities play games better. They’re the brainchild of a lovely man called David Chapman who came up with the idea years ago. His company offers disability aids for gaming and anyone can use them. I really enjoy using the racing wheel adaption to help me play some games, and I’m about to get into the rest of the range.

The Range of Thumb Soldiers Accessories

First off, Thumb Soldiers sell the racing kit, which consists of a racing wheel to click on to the analogue stick, and a knuckle pad that attaches to the other stick. As you can see here, I really enjoy using this. However, there is a lot more available than that, as I’m getting into right now. Firstly, there is the navigation kit, which helps with games like Battlefront. Secondly, there is the Rest kit, which really helps with games like those in the Mario series. Each here is getting a section as I can’t really do an overall review without doing this.

Thumb Soldiers Navigation Kit

The Thumb Soldiers Navigation Kit is absolutely spectacular, although, I’ll admit, it takes some getting used to. As many of you know, flight games and simulations are really my sort of bag when it comes to gaming. Games like Flight Simulator are my sort of thing, and I love pulling barrel rolls in commercial planes. It really is a great way of unwinding after a long day, and this is what the Navigation kit is made for. The Navigation kit consists of sticks you attach to your analogue sticks using the clips provided. One great thing about these clips is that it’s very difficult to break them off. I know it’s designed that way, but Thumb Soldiers knock this out of the park. It’s incredibly hard-wearing. These sticks are somewhat giving in their approach, meaning you can go nuts.

The Navigation Kit

These beauties are superb!

This means that yours truly went crazy pulling off crazy stunts on both a borrowed drone and his PS5 and Switch with great results. You can too! There is a game I borrowed from a friend to really go for it. If you decide to play Hogwarts Legacy with this and play quidditch, you’re in for a treat. The broomsticks in this game are notoriously difficult to control.

The Thumb Soldiers Navigation Kit makes this a lot easier to control and before you know it, I’m catching the Golden Snitch in record time. I wasn’t going to use this game to test The Thumb Soldiers Navigation Kit, but I’m grateful I did. It’s not a game I’ll review, but this kit is spectacular for that particular game.

Another game where this becomes incredible is the F1 series. How many of us make slight errors playing F1 and get punished? Well, with The Thumb Soldiers Navigation Kit, this is a thing of the past. No more am I losing valuable tenth-seconds because of a slight error with steering. I adore this kit, and highly recommend getting it.

The great thing I want to mention about the sticks in the The Thumb Soldiers Navigation Kit is the adaptability of the sticks. There are several levels you can move the sticks to, allowing for more precision. There are four different heights for the sticks, which means you can really do brilliantly. I prefer the Super Precise Control height, as it really helps me with F1 games. It’s up to you as to which you prefer.

The Thumb Soldiers Rest Kit

I love the Mario Franchise, and thanks to the Thumb Soldiers Rest Kit, I don’t die so much. This is particularly apparent when playing with Luigi’s Mansion 3 on the Nintendo Switch. My gaming performance greatly improved, and yours can too!

What is the Rest kit, I hear you ask? Well, it comes with couple of attachments. Firstly, there’s a the Albatross bar. It’s appropriately named, as it’s gigantic. It’s a bar with two upturned ends that you fit you your analogue stick. Our brilliant Lew Langton really thought of me here. As someone with Cerebral Palsy, I find some gaming finicky.

The Albatross makes capturing ghosts a lot easier. It allows you to use your palms, fists or even your wrists to control your character. If you’re a PS5 uses, a word of caution: don’t flex too much to the right though, or you hit the sensor pad in the middle.

The Albatross and Shroom Kits fitted

The other bit is the shroom pad. The Shroom pad has a great name: It looks like a mushroom head and it fits to the analogue stick. I found it worked best on the right stick, but it really is up to you as to which you fit it to. This attachment makes movement much lighter, and it helps you to move your characters better. No more thumb strain and aches in your hands, the shroom is amazing. I’ve decided to keep this on my controller permanently: it really is spectacular. I love this kit so much!

The Thumb Soldiers Studs Kit

How many times has your thumb slipped off the analogue stick? How many times have you yelled to the heavens, wondering why? Fear not, Thumb Soldiers have a studs kit to help you with this problem. It really works well too! I’m trying not to advertise too much here, but it really works!

The Studs don’t get so much in the way of hyperbole, but really work for us gamers who are okay. I’ll give you an example: My able-bodied mates who come round for gaming LOVE this kit. They adore how it helps them kick my butt at COD Zombies and other games. It raises the sticks slightly and adds bumps in a circle format.

This allows for more immersive experiences when racing in Dirt 3 or games like NHL 24. The best use you can get out of this (if asking me) is in NBA 24. Why? The Pro Stick way of shooting really work better with the Thumb Soldiers Studs kit.

Where Can I get the Thumb Soldiers?

Thumb Soldiers kits aren’t particularly expensive. This really is a relief to us disabled gamers, and no kit costs more than £30. Feel free to visit at:

Conclusion

Get them. Just go out and get them on the online shop. As I’ve said before, the packaging is gorgeous. Each kit is brilliant, and for the disabled gamer, they’re superb. I adore each kit, and they’ve been one of the best peripheral kits I’ve ever seen. Thumb Soldiers really should be more popular than they are, and David Chapman is a lovely man to boot. I can’t give this a joystick rating as it isn’t a game, but I wish I could. Seriously, I really love these and strongly recommend them, regardless of your abilities.

They really thought of everything!

As a disabled gamer, I sometimes take far too long to review video games and this is because I struggle. Thanks to this Thumb Soldiers, I hopefully won’t have that issue in future. These peripherals are really useful for several reasons but primarily, the controller is now accessible. I’ve found each Thumb Soldiers kit useful when gaming, and I no longer feel exhausted after a few hours of gaming. My wrists and hand no longer hurt too much, and I have Thumb Soldiers to thank for that. I couldn’t be more grateful for that. So thank you, David Chapman and Lew Langton. My gameplay will never be the same again.
